Got Nutrients in your Water?  Take Note!

A proposed EPA rule on setting how much  nutrients are to be allowed in water that leaves any Florida  property is being proposed.   These "Numeric Nutrient Criteria" will be published in the Federal Register on January 14, 2010.

The US EPA has determined that "numeric nutrient water quality standards" are necessary for the State of Florida to meet the Clean Water Act.  The result will be that All Florida Property owners will be responsible for removing nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphors from water that leaves their property.

A period for public comment will follow the publication of the rule, including  three public hearings which are scheduled for February 16-18.  A limited number of seats are available for the pubic to attend or to make comments on how this will affect persons ability to use their land.
