The 16th Annual Okeechobee Farm-City Week Luncheon was held at the KOA Convention Center on November 19, 2009.
This event helps to bring together local agricultural producers with urban residents of the community. It is sponsored by Okeechobee Kiwanis and the Ag Council.
Youth are always a big part of the program. Local 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters are invited to set up displays of their project work in order to help tell the public about the accomplishments of their members. Below are a number of photos of this year's exhibits.

The Extension office offered a display of the county webpage and asked guests to complete a survey on how they used computers at home and at work. Those that complete the survey by December 4, 2009 are eligible for a free UF/IFAS bookstore selection. Here is the survey: [click here.]
Keynote speaker was Mr. Pat Miller, recently retired County Extension Director of the Okeechobee County UF/IFAS Extension Service. At the conclusion of his presentation, a special recognition was provided to him. Mr. Clayton Williams was also honored for his many years of chairing this event for the Kiwanis Club.
