Master Gardener Sprouting Kit
Dear Prospective Master Gardener:
Thank you for your interest in the Florida Master Gardener Volunteer Program. Glades and Okeechobee County residents can complete a training program to become Florida Master Gardeners. The dates for the next class are being planned for September through October 2008.
To be selected for the upcoming training program, interested volunteers should review the Sprouting Kit and complete the application. The Sprouting Kit is an 8-page document that can be downloaded in Adobe Acrobat Reader. It contains the following information:
State Master Gardener Policies and County Master Gardener Guidelines
Annual Master Gardener Agreement (FYI only)
Master Gardener Volunteer Position Descriptions - Plant Clinic Assistant and 4-H Junior Master Gardener Leader
To be considered for this next class, complete the Florida Master Gardener Volunteer Application. Please remember to include on your application your choice of dates/times for an interview.
Contact our county Extension office if you would like us to mail you a copy of this Sprouting Kit and the application.
There is a program fee ($125) required to participate in the Okeechobee County Master Gardener training. This fee is used to purchase informational items included in the Master Gardener Notebook, a MG polo shirt, and covers some other training costs. Included is a $25 "deposit" which is refunded to you after 75 hours of volunteer service. (The entire fee will be refunded to you immediately if you are not selected for this year’s program.) Please make your check payable to "Extension Activities".
Return all the forms and your check ASAP, but no later than August 25th, 2008. We will call and confirm an interview time.
We look forward to meeting you in the near future!
Horticulturally yours,
| Angela
