Turf Training comes to Fort Pierce

The UF/IFAS Extension Service is teaming up with the Florida Turfgrass Association (FTGA) to provide landscape professionals with updated information on managing turfgrass pests while keeping our water supply safe.   The first annual turfgrass seminar will be held on Tuesday January 16, 2007 at the USDA Horticultural Crops Laboratory,  located on 2001 S Rock Road, Fort Pierce.

This program is open to all professional turfgrass manager, including those in the green industry that work on athletic fields or residential properties.  Topics will be presented by UF Extension staff and other industry officials.  Presentations will cover the latest information on pesticide safety, weed management, turfgrass and disease management of turf grasses.

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and  the program ends at 2:15 p.m. While the pre-registration date has passed,  registration on the day of the program is still available for $45.00.  The fee will include a continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments. 

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for those with pesticide applicator licenses will be available at  this informative seminar. Other seminars in this series will be offered in Lake Worth  (1/17),  Plantation  (1/18),  Ocala (1/23) , Jacksonville(1/24) and Milton (1/30).
