Okeechobee County Fair Vegetable Identification & Judging Contest

Okeechobee FFA Alumni first sponsored a Vegetable ID & Judging contest at the 2007 Okeechobee Co. Fair, and held another local contest in  2009. In 2010, local students also participated in regional contests and the 2010 state FFA Vegetable judging contest. Local contests was held again in 2011, and plans are to have a similar event in 2012.

Upcoming Invitational Contest Dates:

Friday February 17 at the Osceola County Fair in Kissimmee - start time 10 AM.  

Friday March 16 at the Okeechobee County Fair - start time TBA

The 2012 state contest is scheduled for Friday April 27, 2012 on the UF Campus in Gainesville.  Team registration deadline is Friday April 13, 2011.

2010 State Vegetable Evaluation Career Development Event Results    GAINESVILLE, FL – Florida FFA Vegetable Evaluation event was held Friday, April 23, 2010 at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Ninety (90) teams from throughout Florida gathered to compete for the state championship. The purpose of the Vegetable Evaluation CDE is to stimulate interest in learning activities related to vegetable identification, production, and management. Florida FFA is very appreciative of the support of our event coordinator Lynn Nobles.
