Below are photos showing the demise of the Florida Champion Nyasaland or African Mahogany (Khaya nyasica Baker f.).  It was reportedly transplanted to EREC in the 1930s from the Keys, and had a trunk diameter of 270 inches in 1993.  It was nominated by Dr. Joseph R. Orsenigo in 1973.  RIP.
